Mrs. Siobhan (Holmes) Schaul
Dear Panther Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer and excited to start high school!

To share a bit more about myself, I pursued my Learning Behavior Specialist 1 undergraduate degree at Northern Illinois University. I received my Master’s in Education (LBS II) with endorsements in Curriculum Adaptation and Behavior Intervention in 2013. This is my 14th year at Von Steuben and I have primarily been a Special Education teacher within the Social Studies Department, but shifted into the Case Manager role full time last year. I also assist with testing accommodations for all standardized testing (PSAT, SAT, AP, etc.) and will be in contact with you regarding testing if accommodations apply to you.

I look forward to working with and supporting our students, families and teachers. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I check my email frequently and although my last name has changed, my email will remain the same (smholmes1@cps.edu). My phone number HAS CHANGED and I now have a direct line. My new number is 773-534-5116.

Reminders
  • You will receive a Notice of Conference in the mail indicating the date, time and persons invited to your 504 Plan/IEP Meeting. If there are any concerns or if you do not receive the Notice of Conference please contact me as soon as possible.
  • If you are assigned a Related Service Provider (Nurse, Social Worker, Psychologist, Speech Language Pathologist, Audiologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, etc.) they may also require additional paperwork to be completed prior to the meeting.
  • All students with 504 Plans will be overseen by myself, and if applicable any Related Service Provider assigned to you
  • All students with IEP will have an assigned Special Education Teacher as their Service Provider. Some students with IEPs will also have Related Service Providers. Your assigned Special Education Service Provider will be your primary contact throughout the school year.
  • ALL students will be assigned a Counselor. This person is also a highly valuable member of your academic progress.

Again, I am looking forward to working with you to ensure a successful school year!

Sincerely,

Ms. Siobhan M. (Holmes) Schaul
